Packing a Deco22 Bag

In October 2017, while completing an application form for a Leathersellers award, I came across this YouTube clip “I'm packing my bags!! Are you prepared?” by a lady called Tori.
 
It dawned on me that the information I was compiling for the award application, (how I would describe my business, high quality images of my work etc) could come in handy in the future. I now have everything in one folder labelled “leather”.
 
I have gradually accepted that, as a small craft-based business run by one person, prospective customers want to know “my story".
 
I still find this surprising – the concept sits firmly outside of my comfort zone (Introvert, remember!) so at the beginning of this year my “about Deco22-bag” was pretty empty! My friend in business Thea Smartt Henry recommend I participated in a Instagram January challenge launched by another small business, Hoopsy Print.

​The challenge follows a series of topics about my business – one for every day of January. The first post was about me, yes me not Deco22 but ME! My first thought was “Uuuuuuuughhhh NO!”, but Thea challenged me to ‘justify my no’. When Thea pointed out my actual post-content was still ultimately, down to me and that I had LOADS of images where I am ‘in the frame of the picture.. but not entirely’, I decided to take on the challenge.
As I started to go through the challenge list, I realized that a lot of the information would also help me to fill my “about Deco22-bag”.
